Weather & Climate

Image
Method #1 NOAA In the search bar for this website, typed in Millville NJ- Maurice River was an option which is the main waterway connecting streams to Menantico ponds. Here I had access to categorial archives such as basic trends overtime in temperature precipitation, and wind and also more in depth weather and long term climate patterns for Menantico Ponds (Millville, NJ) location. Some of the additional data includes future flood predictions with storms, what ppb the air quality is (what I check daily for my allergies, and what the level of standards are, sky cover, and min/max temperatures.  Example of the current weekly/daily weather and precipitation levels for this region Method #2 Willyweather In google search, I typed in tide charts for Maurice River and this website popped up. Knowing high tide is essential for fisherman, as well as waves that can get pretty high if kayakers venture out to the Maurice river opening through the trestle. For inexperienced kayakers/canoers please

Web Soil Survey

Menantico Blue Hole Location 39.36092°, -74.97940° USDA Web Soil Survey Review I have used other web soil surveys, and this one provided by the USDA is one of the easiest to grasp. Once you click the get started button, basic navigation is provided on the left. If you know the address of your area of interest, then this will save plenty of steps and you can type your area in, and click on the area which will generate the soil data very quickly. If not, I was able to pinpoint two locations of my choice, copy and paste the coordinates, and from there draw a rectangle around the Blue Hole at Menantico Ponds, and see how many types of soil there are and how deep certain layers run, various elevations, to frequencies of flooding. So much useful information for researchers and nature enthusiasts.
